Last week on Wednesday I left with Dad to meet Uncle Wayne in Sioux Falls. From there Wayne and I headed to his house and the next morning, Thursday, we left for Mississippi for a youth duck hunting trip. On the way down we stayed over night in Missouri and the next morning, Friday, we arrived at the Country Club in Charleston, Mississippi. We ate lunch there and meet the guides that would be with us while we hunted. Then we went to the Lodge where we were going to stay.
The next morning, Saturday, at 4:30 we got up and left to go the location where we were going to hunt. (About 10 miles away.) There were three other kids in my group besides me. Andy, Josh, and I can't remember the other kid's name. At around dawn the first group of ducks came in. Andy and I each got 1. I shot 2 more later that morning so it was pretty exciting! That afternoon another flock of ducks came through and I shot one, it started to fall and then caught it's self and flew away!
On Sunday we woke up at 4:30 again and went to the same spot. The day wasn't too exciting because only 3 ducks came in and I didn't get any. We came back to the Lodge at 9:00 in the morning and packed and left for home.
Driving through the night we got back to Uncle Wayne's at 3:00 Monday morning. I slept in really late! Around 10:00 Wayne took me out for a ride on this Arctic Cat ZR 700. He took me for the first ride and showed me how it worked, and I won't mention how fast he drove! Then he let me take it out and I had a blast! I went to the Bean Field where there's a long stretch and went for a wild ride!!!
On Tuesday I went out snowmobiling several more times. That evening I had a little mishap while driving the snowmobile over a bump that I didn't see. Anyway, I ended up with a sprained ankle...
Wednesday morning Wayne, Pat (his wife), and I drove back to Sioux Falls and met Dad and he drove me the rest of the way home. We arrived home around 5:00 pm.
